Honours Arts and Honours Arts and Business provide you with skills and knowledge you can apply to just about every aspect of your life – both in university and beyond! With Co-op available in all Arts majors, you can graduate with a significant chunk of paid, relevant work experience on your résumé, not to mention having had the opportunity to explore a variety of career options.

 

Applying to St. Jerome’s through Honours Arts or Honours Arts and Business gives you the opportunity to take the flexibility and range of knowledge offered through the Faculty of Arts and pair them with a community that is always there for you, and a whole bunch of other extras!

Ontario secondary school students


To be considered for admission as an Ontario secondary school student, you must have the following:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a minimum of six Grade 12 university (U) preparation or university/college (M) preparation courses, which must include all the required courses specified for each program you’re applying to, as listed below
  • An admission average that meets or exceeds the admission averages listed below, calculated using your best six Grade 12 U and/or M courses, which must include required courses

 

Application procedures and admission requirements to SJU and the University of Waterloo are identical. Although SJU will assist each student with the process, further information can be found on Waterloo’s Future Students website.

 

 
Applying from outside Ontario


Concerned about feeling overwhelmed by moving to a new province or a new country? SJU us a great choice. From your very first day, you’ll feel at home in our friendly, welcoming community.

 


Applying for part-time studies


All applications for full-time, on-campus studies are processed by OUAC, as explained above. If you’re interested in part-time studies, please follow the instructions for part-time students. 
 


Other requirements and deadlines

 

Recommended courses
These courses are not required for admission, but you'll find that what you learn in them provides helpful background for your university studies:
  • Mathematics of Data Management is recommended if you intend to select one of the following majors: Anthropology; Economics; Psychology; Political Science; Sexuality, Marriage, and Family Studies; Social Development Studies; or Sociology.
  • Calculus and Vectors is recommended if you’re thinking of majoring in Economics, but you could also acquire the additional background by taking an introductory calculus course during your first year.
