United College and St. Jerome's University Initiate Library Collection Partnership

The university colleges at the University of Waterloo have a deep history of collaboration and offer a rich tradition of social connection and community in support of students as they progress on their academic journeys.

In an example of the type of partnership the university colleges are known for, staff, faculty, alum, and students from United College and St. Jerome’s University came together on May 3, 2023, to officially launch an exciting new academic collaboration.

Graduates are asked to monitor their email for additional details and to visit the Graduating Students page on this website for updates. Graduates have been sent an email invitation and must register their participation by Friday, May 19, 2023.

2022 Betty G. Headley Senior Essay Award Winners Announced

St. Jerome’s University (SJU) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2022 Betty G. Headley Senior Essay Award. The annual competition honours the memory of the mother of SJU graduate Sara Elizabeth “Sally” Headley, BA ’04 (English Language and Literature). The award features essays written by upper-year undergraduate students that are distinguished by their eloquence, originality, and persuasive power.

The 40^th Anniversary of St. Jerome’s University’s (SJU) Lectures in Catholic Experience series continues on March 9th with special guest Professor Massimo Faggioli, from the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at Villanova University. Faggioli will offer an assessment of “Francis@Ten”: Pope Francis’ pontificate at ten years from his election on March 13, 2013.

Woodland Cultural Centre Tour of Mohawk Institute Residential School

St. Jerome's University invites members of the community to attend the Woodland Cultural Centre's virtual tour of the former Mohawk Institute Residential School, taking place on March 3rd. Learn more about this important part of Canada’s history in our local context by joining us for this event. Everyone welcome!

The tour will be 60 minutes followed by 30 minutes of questions/answers with the Woodland Cultural Centre staff. Participants may attend online. The in person viewing party has been cancelled due to anticipated inclement weather today.

Soirées Ciné - France

St. Jerome's University's Department of Italian and French Studies is pleased to present the next film in the complimentary Soirées Ciné series. France is being presented on Monday, March 27, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the SJ2/Academic Centre, Room 2003. The comedic film is a story about a celebrity journalist, juggling her busy career and personal life, who has her life over-turned by a freak car accident.

Everyone is welcome to join us for this French language film! Pizza will be served.

Soirées Ciné - Un homme à la hauteur

St. Jerome's University's Department of Italian and French Studies is pleased to present the next film in the complimentary Soirées Ciné series. Un homme à la hauteur (Up for Love) is being presented on Monday, February 27, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the SJ2/Academic Centre, Room 2003. The comedic film is a story about a lawyer dating a dashing, wealthy architect four and a half feet tall, who gets ribbed by her family, employees and jealous ex about his stature. Featuring Jean Dujardin.
