The Board of Governors has responsibility over the mission and vision of St. Jerome’s University. Specifically, the Board oversees the mission driven activity of the University, aligning the objects and reputation of the University with its foundational mission as a Roman Catholic university. Oversight includes direction of governance matters such as policy, and business and financial affairs through the approval of operating budgets, with respect to revenue and expenditures, and management of property. It is the Board’s primary duty to ensure St.

LCE Presents "None of the Above: Nonreligious Identity in the US and Canada"

Join us as we welcome Dr. Joel Thiessen and Dr. Sarah Wilkins-Laflamme as guest speakers for our next lecture in the 2022-2023 Lectures in Catholic Experience series. Co-authors of the book None of the Above: Nonreligious Identity in the US and Canada, Dr. Thiessen and Dr. Wilkins-Laflamme will examine how nearly one-third of American and Canadian adults say they have no religion.

Orientation and Investiture Ceremony

The St. Jerome’s University (SJU) Orientation and Investiture Ceremony honours the tradition of welcoming and formally acknowledging the beginning of our first-year students’ journey at the university. The ceremony includes a liturgy and the commissioning of first-year students, student leaders, and new members of the university’s Board of Governors. The 2022 Orientation and Investiture ceremony takes place on Sunday, September 11th at 2:30 p.m. in the Academic Centre (SJ2) on SJU's campus.

 

Queer Methods in Legal Analysis - SJU/UW Joint Legal Studies Seminar

St. Jerome's University and the University of Waterloo welcome professor and author Stu Marvel, PhD, to deliver the Spring 2022 Joint Legal Studies Seminar, taking place online on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Marvel will be speaking on her paper "Queer Methods in Legal Analysis: Sperm Donations and the Biopolitics of Reproduction".

 

2022 Graduation Ceremony

St. Jerome's University's is pleased to celebrate this year's Graduates at the 2022 Graduation Ceremony, with Liturgy of the Word, taking place on Sunday, June 12, 2022. The annual celebration recognizes Graduate academic achievements, University awards, and the University's highest student honour - the Zach Ralston Award. The ceremony returns to an in-person format this year with a live stream option.
