SJU Connect Newsletter Submission Guidelines
 
If you are a member of the St. Jerome’s University community and you wish to submit an event, announcement, or deadline to be included in the upcoming SJU Connect Newsletter, please read through all of the below requirements and guidelines to ensure that your submission is valid and meets the criteria to be included in the newsletter.
 
  1. The event, announcement, or deadline must be related to St. Jerome’s or the St. Jerome’s community in some way.
 
  1. If you wish to submit an event it must meet at least one of the following parameters:
    1. The event is taking place at St. Jerome’s University, or
    2. The event is directed towards:
      • Residents living at St. Jerome’s
      • St. Jerome’s co-registered students
      • St. Jerome’s student leaders
      • Student members of the St. Jerome’s community
 
  1. If you wish to submit an announcement it must meet at least one of the following parameters:
    1. The announcement is about St. Jerome’s University,
    2. The announcement relates to students or residents at St. Jerome’s University, or
    3. The announcement is regarding academics or other important information that applies to all students at the University of Waterloo
 
  1. If you wish to submit a deadline it must meet at least one of the following parameters:
    1. The deadline relates to students or residents at St. Jerome’s University, or
    2. The deadline is regarding academics or other important information that applies to all students at the University of Waterloo
 
  1. The event or announcement must be appropriate. There will be zero tolerance for submissions that are not inclusive, or submissions that poorly reflect St. Jerome’s University and our values.
 
 
Events vs. Announcements vs. Deadlines
Please ensure to read through this section thoroughly if you plan on making a submission, as to ensure it is submitted to the correct category:
 
Events
  • Something with a set time
  • Something that can be attended
  • A function that is happening or will be happening in the near future
 
Announcements
  • Something that is ongoing
  • Something that is not immediate
  • Something that is upcoming
  • Campus-wide notifications
  • Piece of information to be shared (a “heads up” or “news”)
 
Deadlines
  • An important time or date
  • A submission timeframe
 
*All submissions will be reviewed and will be included at the sole discretion of the SJU Connect editors.
 
**The SJU Connect editors reserve the right to alter the category of submission where they see fit.  
 
***File upload: feel free to include any supporting files for your submission. Please note that file uploads should only be included to provide additional details and will not appear in the SJU Connect Newsletter.
