Dr. Michele Mosca, St. Jerome's University graduate and recipient of the Fr. Norm Choate, C.R., Lifetime Achievement, was appointed as a Knight of the Order of Merit by the Government of Italy. The honour comes as a result of Mosca's significant contributions in quantum computing and cybersecurity.

Consul General of Italy in Toronto, Giuseppe Patorelli conferred the Knighthood on June 28, and was quoted as saying: "President Mattarella was deeply impressed by his thought leadership in cybersecurity and quantum computing and the strong connection to his Italian heritage which was apparent from their discussion. I was delighted to learn of his decision to appoint Professor Mosca to the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic."

We congratulate Dr. Mosca on this honour, and thank him for being an example to all our students.
