Justice and the Modern Encyclicals

The internationally-known Canadian theologian provides an overview of the challenges raised in papal encyclicals concerning justice in modern society. He calls on people to reread the bible and discover Christ’s call for social justice. “Faith must include social commitment”, he says.

Gregory Baum

Professor Baum is a Canadian Theologian of international reputation. Among his numerous books are studies examining the relationship of religion and faith to society, and of Canadian socialism and the Catholic Church. His latest work is a commentary on Pop John Paul II’s Laborem Exercensm, published by Paulist Press.
