The Feast of St. Jerome | Annual Fundraiser for Student Scholarships, is a community event held in the fall that honours the university's Patron Saint. Historically the celebration includes a Mass, followed by a reception and dinner, and the opportunity for our donors and friends to connect, reminisce, and raise money for St. Jerome’s University student scholarships.

A highlight of the evening is the presentation of the Chancellor John R. and Kay Sweeney Award for Catholic Leadership. Established in 2001, this award is presented annually at the Feast of St. Jerome to an exemplary leader who publicly lives out the gospel values and understands the need to demonstrate these values to a future generation of leaders. It is given to an individual(s) who has demonstrated, either through professional or personal achievements, extraordinary accomplishment in the fields of leadership, education, and service to others. Previous recipients of the award include The Right Honourable Paul Martin, Dick Callahan, Dr. John “Jack” Raymond Sehl, Robert Way, Mary Kuntz, Steven Lubczuk, and in 2020, COVID-19 Pandemic Essential Workers.
