Admissions
Meet Cameron and Gabrielle two Graduating Students!
13 Feb, 2020

Graduating students are a big part of the St. Jerome’s community through helping to pass on traditions, take on leadership positions and more. This term some graduating students will be interviewed and they will share memories from their years as a St. Jerome’s student, as well as their advice for an incoming student. This is the third post highlighting graduating students and within it two students will be interviewed! Cameran Hall and Gabrielle McInnis

Cameron Hall has been a part of the St. Jerome’s Community for four years and he is a Math student with a Joint Major in Pure Mathematics and Combinatorics & Optimization

What is your favourite class that you have taken over your degree so far, and why is it your favourite?

I loved taking PORT 101/102. It was full of others like me who had Portuguese parents but never learned the language, and it was such a fun course.

What advice would you give to an incoming St. Jerome's student who is starting their degree in the fall 2020 term?

Don't be afraid to take a wide variety of courses at the start of your degree, that way by the end of it you will know exactly what you want to do!.

What is your favourite St. Jerome's Memory?

During SAT training in my second year, I was able to make tons of memories in the few days we had. They were full of late nights, lots of laughs and getting to know people who would end up being some of my best friends!

What are your plans upon graduating?

I will be going to Queen's University in Kingston to pursue by Bachelor of Education, and then hopefully be a high school math teacher!

Gabrielle McInnis has been a part of the St. Jerome’s Community for four years and is  in the Faculty of Arts with a Double major in legal studies and peace and conflict studies

What is your favourite class that you have taken over your degree so far, and why is it your favourite?

Restorative Justice. It looks at restoring relationships and communities while mitigating the effects of shame and stigmatization

What advice would you give to an incoming St. Jerome's student who is starting their degree in the fall 2020 term?

Do what you need to do to be comfortable. The systems that work for others may not work for you.

What is your favourite St. Jerome's Memory?

Laughing with friends. Specifically spending time in my don’s room in first year, watching some TV as a floor. Additionally we also did a fun event in my don’s room, a secret Santa event! We all sat together and opened each others gifts to each other. It was a lot of fun!

What are your plans upon graduating?

Applying for a master's program at Uwaterloo
