Assistant Professor (tenure track), Sexuality, Marriage, and Family Studies

The Department of Sexuality, Marriage, and Family Studies (SMF) at St. Jerome’s University invites applications for a tenure-track position in sexualities, relationships, and families at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2020 (subject to budgetary approval). All applicants must hold a PhD in the interdisciplinary field of family/relationship studies and/or sexuality, or a PhD in a related field in the social sciences or humanities. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service. Demonstrated experience of innovation in the area of teaching and learning is also desired.

The successful candidate will conduct research and teach in any of the following subject areas: family relationships, romantic relationships, sexualities, and/or sex and relational therapy. They must also be able to teach an Introduction to Relationships and Families course, Research Methods and/or Quantitative Statistics in SMF, Sexual and Relational Ethics, as well as other core courses in the SMF academic plans and courses that correspond to the applicant’s areas of specialization. The successful candidate will also be committed to participating in administrative service and future academic/departmental leadership in SMF.

As of May 1, 2019, the base salary for an Assistant Professor is $81,866.

SMF is an interdisciplinary program that offers Honours, Joint Honours, and Four-Year General undergraduate degrees, along with Specializations, a Minor, and a post-degree Diploma.
