We only have the jurisdiction to celebrate sacraments for members of our community. Therefore we encourage people who have been attending Mass at St. Jerome's to fill out a registration form and invite you to get involved.

Annointing of the Sick

Who Should Receive this Sacrament?
Those who are living with acute or chronic illness, elderly people who are very weak and patients before surgery can all be anointed. Those who have a serious mental illness and who would be strengthened by the sacrament may also receive the sacrament. We should remember that this sacrament is for the living. When someone dies they are prayed for but the body is not anointed.

How Can the Community Help Those Who Are Sick?
Since we are connected to each other in many ways, illness not only affects those who are sick, but also can affect their families, friends and even co-workers. The whole Christian community forms the body of Christ. Together our prayers are more powerful and express our communal desire for the person's return to health.

If you would like to receive this sacrament please call Fr. Ed Sheridan, Our Lady of Lourdes Church, (519) 886-0342; Fr. Con O'Mahony, St. Michael Church, (519) 884-9311; or Fr. Tim Uniac, C.R., St. Louis Church, (519) 743-4101to arrange an appropriate time.
