At. St. Jerome’s, Residence Life is characterized by the same sense of community, warmth, and friendliness that can be found in the classrooms, hallways, and offices of our academic building. As a student registered at St. Jerome’s, you’ll be given priority for a space in our residence, where you’ll find many opportunities to meet people, have fun, and get involved in the many activities that take place throughout the year.
The St. Jerome’s residence accommodates 286 students: the J.R. Finn residence houses 141 men in double rooms, while Sweeney Hall houses 145 Women in both double and single rooms. Shared facilities include:

No matter what time you walk into the residence at St. Jerome’s, you’re likely to find lots of activity. St. Jerome’s Residence Life Team work together to plan events and social occasions through out the school year.
A Residence Council, which is made up of elected members from each of the floors, the residence Dons, the Residence Manager, and the Residence Life Programmer, organizes social functions and represents the residents in issues that pertain to the everyday workings of their home away from home. Each year, the residents produce a yearbook, hold numerous house dinners, and organize a semi-formal. Along with these activities, the St. Jerome’s residents field teams in a number of Campus Recreation intramural sports leagues. No matter what your level of skill, you’ll be welcome to join in a game of hockey, basketball, volleyball, or dodgeball, to name just a few of the sports available. There’s something for everyone, and whether you’re playing sports, conducting a meeting, organizing an event, or cheering your friends on, you’ll feel like an important part of the St. Jerome’s residence family.
The week before classes begin for the fall term the entire campus holds a week of activities to help welcome first year students to campus. This includes activities to help you become familiar with the campus and its facilities as well as the neighbourhood amenities. There is a fee associated with these activities and it is added to your first term fees.
