16. Parking

EFFECTIVE: November 20, 2003

Parking is the responsibility of the Director of Residences and Facility Operations and his/her designate. Where applicable St. Jerome’s University follows the policies and guidelines for parking enforced by University of Waterloo Parking Services and the University of Waterloo Police.

All users of the St. Jerome’s University parking lots are required to obey the signage and park in designated areas. Appeals regarding tickets and towing must be made in writing to the Director of Residences and Facility Operations.

Parking access cards and/or codes are provided to regular staff and faculty through payroll deduction. Each person is permitted only one pass.

Students living in residence, sessional faculty, and casual or contract staff may purchase an access card at the current rate.

Temporary guest parking privileges may be extended at the discretion of the President and/or the Director of Residences and Facility Operations.

Lost access cards should be reported to the Director of Residences and Facility Operations. A replacement charge may apply.

The Parking Committee serves as an appeal body on parking complaints and appeals. It considers written parking appeals for tickets or towing that have resulted from a parking infraction that has taken place at St. Jerome's University.

Membership: the Director of Residences and Facility Operations (Chair), the Assistant to the Director of Residences and Facility Operations, one (1) member of the faculty elected annually by the faculty and one (1) member of the staff, elected annually by the staff, in an election conducted by the Steering Committee of College Council; and one (1) student selected annually by the Students’ Union.
