Psychology is the scientific approach to understanding the human mind and human behaviour. The Psychology Department at St. Jerome's University focuses on undergraduate education in a thought-provoking and respectful environment. Students in Psychology have the opportunity to study psychological ideas in depth, gain first-hand research experience, and develop observational, analytical, and numeric skills in ways that can be used to address complex individual, relational, and societal issues.
In addition to teaching core courses such as Introductory Psychology, Social Psychology and Psychopathology the instructors at St. Jerome's also have specialized research interests and expertise in unique areas such as educational psychology, human sexuality, the psychology of evil, death and dying, criminal profiling, psychology and the law, and close relationships.
