"Hands down the best place on campus to study. I’m always super focused there and it puts me in a super motivated vibe. Even though they mostly have Arts related books, there are still science and math sections which, as a Math student, I love. I also really like that it’s small because I find DP (Dana Porter Library) and DC (Davis Centre Library) intimidating. Also, they always have a puzzle to solve or little activities to do."

"It’s a great place to study or get work done. I love the big windows and the staff are always super nice! Plus it’s fair trade!"

"The Funcken is a great study space that is so close to the residence. The café itself is amazing; their lattes and hot beverages are great, and the staff are lovely and always super friendly! Even when the café is closed, the seating area remains open and is a nice, quiet place to study or do your projects, especially in the winter months!"

"It’s a great place to study and the staff are so nice! They have also been known to give out free cookies/muffins if they have leftovers at the end of the day!"

"The coffee houses we host in there are tons of fun and the cozy atmosphere brings everyone closer together as a family!"

"Me and my close friends that I've made at UW spend lots of fun nights playing pool and ping pong! Plus it's a great study spot!"

"I have lots of memories there, including late night studying and ordering food (and promptly realising that we got locked out and having to call someone inside for help – that night everyone got locked out at least once), to coffee house, to Mamma Mia movie night!"

"I was in SJ2 studying with a bunch of friends and we got to the point where no work was being done because we were so stressed out. We decided to leave our classroom on the second floor and go for a walk, but when we left the classroom SJ2 was completely empty and we started to play tag. We were hiding in classrooms, behind plants, and laying down behind couches. We definitely released a lot of stress like that and then returned to our studying."

"My friends and I made a baking show in the Buttery where we attempted to bake a cake. The cake ended up being raw and only the edges were cooked, but we had so much fun baking and we could not stop laughing the whole time. We ended up making so many new friends that night, as people were trying to give us advice and tips on how to fix the cake. This experience in the Buttery made me closer to my friends I have now!"

"I love the living room because it’s a super community-oriented space. During the day, it’s a quiet, light-filled place to study. In the evenings people congregate and hang out and there’s a very lively feel."

"This is my favourite space on the SJU campus because it can double as a study space at the high tables and a hangout space in the couch area. This space promotes the community vibe SJ is known for, as it is available at all times and is a great place to spend time with friends! There are also fun events that take place throughout the term in the living room like paint nights and fort building!"

"During Orientation Week, I went to shoot some baskets in the gym with a few people I had met. It turned into a 20 person basketball scrimmage! It helped me meet tons of new friends and everyone bonded over funny moments that happened during the game!"

"It’s a fantastic place to chill out, practice music and just relax for a while. I love being able to have access to a drum kit, as I’ve played music for many years."
