How we went from a Roman Catholic boys' school in 1865 to a public Catholic university federated with the University of Waterloo. Details.
Annual audited financial statements
Founded in 1865, St. Jerome’s became a university in 1959 through an Act of the government of Ontario. Within a year, St. Jerome’s agreed to a federation with the new University of Waterloo.
Given the federation, St. Jerome’s graduates receive a University of Waterloo degree, and St. Jerome’s holds in abeyance its degree-granting privilege, except for degrees in theology.
St. Jerome’s University enrolls students in Arts and Mathematics. All its students must fulfill the admission, promotion, and graduation requirements of the University of Waterloo.
St. Jerome’s students are free to take University of Waterloo courses and UW students regularly take courses at SJU.
