President's Message

At St. Jerome 's you quickly develop a sense of family; we have a shared commitment to our values, to our various projects and, even more importantly, to one another. We strive to educate all aspects of the life of the student and we truly believe that living is learning.

I can recall vividly the first time I was approached by the St. Jerome 's Search Committee for the new President. I immediately went to the SJU website and discovered its many features and rich information about the University. I became very excited about the prospect of being involved with such an enriching community. And I dreamed about the chance to help build upon its rich traditions and faith-filled past. My initial intuition that involvement with St. Jerome 's would be an exhilarating and engaging adventure has not let me down.

Since I arrived in August 2007 I've learned a great deal about the University, about its federated partner, the University of Waterloo, and about St. Jerome's customs and traditions. What impresses me about our University is our engaged faculty, our committed and energetic staff, and the consistency with which we attract students who are eager to make a significant contribution to our society as well as to the larger global community.

In short, St. Jerome 's University is a great place to be! At the beginning of this New Year I want to wish you and your loved ones a happy, prosperous, and healthy 2008.
